You'll need:
• 500ml/18fl oz double cream
• 175g/6oz demerara sugar
• 175g/6oz butter
• 1 tbsp golden syrup
• 1 tbsp black treacle
To make this toffee sauce, simply place all of the ingredients—butter, double cream, demerara sugar, golden syrup, and black treacle—into a saucepan. Gently heat the mixture, whisking continuously until the butter and sugar have completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
